  • The Company has long-term LoM contracts with major customers The Company, including its subsidiaries, have secured the LoM contracts to handle the shipping and logistic activities of the APT and GPB coal mines. The availability of barges are utmost critical for the customers to evacuate the coal from their remote location, therefore the services of the Company is key in the operational process of its customers. Therefore, the Company is continuously focusing on meeting the needs of its customers effectively and in an efficient manner.
  • Newly constructed tugboats and barges having long useful life Generally, the barges have an economic useful life of around 30 years with periodical maintenance. The barges owned by the Company have an average age of 0-3 years, so they are still classified quite new while still having a long economic life. The Operating cost of these barges in terms of fuel consumption,, maintenance, and spares are relatively low and offer more work safety to the crew.
  • The Company owns a number of barges and Tug boats and increasing further at faster pace. As of August, 2023, the Company owns 34 river barges and 38 tugboats. The Company's barges have the required capacity to support the volume of coal transportation from customers for the time being. The Company also charters tugboats and barges with freight charter and time charter schemes to meet incremental demand from customers. The Company is in expansion mode to increase the barges and tugboats capacity in line with the higher expected demand from the customers.
  • Strategic location of Inter Transhhipment Point (ISP) for coal transportation The subsidiary of the Company owns the ISP, located on the bank of Mahakam River, Embalut Village. At the ISP, the Company carryies out the activity of unloading from river barges and loading on to ocean barges for further transport to high seas and domestic locations. The Company also maintains the stockpile at ISP for its customers. The location of the ISP is closer to the anchorage point (i.e. Muara Berau or Muara Jawa) which helps the Company to lower the fuel consumptions and lower cycle time for barge movement which helps to reduce overall operation cost and increase efficiency.
  • Use of technology to improve the monitoring and efficiency of the barge movement The Company has implemented a vessel tracking system (VTS) in its fleet, helping to collect data related to location, running speed and direction of travel of the barges so that the Company can monitors barge movement on real time basis and improve the efficiency of the barges.

    The Company is keen and committed to use digitalization and innovative technology to its various processes to improve work efficiency and productivity.
  • Secured long term fuel supply and integrated logistics system Fuel is vital for uninterrupted operation of the Company. In order to secure the steady supply of fuel and maintain competitive pricing, the Company entered into a long term fuel supply contract with PT Borneo Petrol Servis, an authorized agent of Pertamina. . Furthermore, the Company and its subsidiaries have setup integrated fuel storage logistics system at the mining, stockpile and transshipment areas.
  • Professional and experienced management team The Company and Subsidiaries have vast experiences in the shipping industry. The capability and knowledge of the extensive management team supported by strong operational and business management of the Company and Subsidiaries is critical in achieving superior performance and efficiencies. Additionally, the Company and its Subsidiaries also have operational teams supported by long work experience in the shipping industry. The operational team also always maintains the validity of certifications that must be owned and required by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, in this case the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
  • Concern for occupational health and safety (K3), environment and community The Company and its Subsidiaries have concern for the environment and community. The Company and Subsidiaries have several CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs, namely community development, education, economy, health, socio-cultural enrichment and environmental improvement including monitoring environmental impacts that can be caused by operational activities on land, air, water and others.
